  1. The Three Brotherhood Alliance (Arakha/Arakan Army, Ta’ang National Liberation Army, and Myanmar Nationalities Democratic Alliance Army) and the Mandalay People’s Defense Force are attacking Lashio because it is the headquarters of the junta’s Northeastern Command.

    Also, the reason why the pro-junta militias use weapons other than the MA-series Galil (or QBZ) clones is because they’re either made up of former rebels, or the junta quartermasters just redistribute the obsolete/captured stuff. In this case, it’s likely the latter.
