  1. The leftist New Popular Front (NFP) grabbed the top spot in the second round of the French legislative election on Sunday in a major upset over the far-right, according to projections.

The New Popular Front (NFP) was expected to have 172-215 seats, whereas French President Emmanuel Macron’s centrist Ensemble alliance was in second with 150 to 180 MPs.

Marine Le Pen’s far-right National Rally unexpectedly landed in third place with 120 to 152 seats.

  2. Giorgia Meloni bet everything on Le Pen’s victory in order to gain more influence in Europe

This will have a lot of effects on Rome too

  3. I am not the one to like leftists but congratulation. The way European far rights try to make it convinient for a hostile state is unbecoming of nationalists, which they claim they are.

  4. The right is gonna have a constitutional majority in the next elections. Why? Because the left&center alliance is all about keeping the status quo. Status quo that both the left and the right agree it does not work. This move is going to hurt the left badly in the long run, since from this point on they are going to be associated with and responsible for the failing status quo.

  5. European countries will see the light and join UK and France by switching to FPTP, its the only way to stop the far right

  6. Well done France! Hope this comes to pass. Been a very refreshing week for politics!

  7. Guess that’s the advantage of having the two rounds of voting, the first can be a wake up call.

  8. Leftist=hard left, as far right= hard right?

This destruction of non left politics by the left won’t end well.

France has just nuked the political centre.

    Expect fallout.

  9. Do you think the leftists will do something about the genocide of the Tigrayans?

  10. Is that even a good thing? Can Macron explain his 4D Chess Plan until 2027? Is that gonna strengthen Le Pen for the election, or will it weaken her?

  11. At the „celebration“ for the left victory there were barely any French people. The majority of the flags were third world dumps. This shall radicalize the French populace and the right. I hope next election the French won’t choose a party that wants to destroy their culture.

  12. It’s only a relative majority. No single party or coalition holds an absolute majority, we might be headed towards a government shutdown as French politicians kinda suck at the whole parliamentary democracy thing.
