Russia’s FRAGGING Epidemic is GROWING!

fratricide or fragging has been an endemic problem within the Russian military but is it getting even worse I’m Paul US Army Combat veteran let’s talk about it okay this is a really interesting story from actually the Novia gazetta Europe This is a European magazine that says that Russian troops in occupied Ukraine have been killing each other at an alarming rate now this profiles a number of different instances um in which sold from the Russian military have ended up killing one another in one instance uh a soldier who of course was absolutely blasted drunk deserted his unit got picked up by an officer and then suddenly became paranoid that the officer knew he was a deserter and shot him uh but other soldiers are fighting for uh insults and slights uh just because they’re drunk and because they uh feel the other one has has uh been derel in their Duty well interesting is that Russia doesn’t really prosecute any of these cases and you can see when they look at it there’s only been about 135 cases prosecuted of murder on the front lines uh there’s also a a tiny number of violation of firearms handing rules assaults Abus of authority and violent acts against the superior officer now what’s fascinating is you’re probably thinking is murder in the Russian military that’s that’s a strat stry that sounds like a military strategy not a crime and that’s sort of one of the biggest problems is that in a lot of cases because of the high casualty rates it’s very easy to write off a casualty or or a Dead Soldier uh who was killed in interpersonal violence as another combat casualty especially in units with high casualty rates um now this means of course that there’s almost no way to know really uh kind of how the overall fragging inance inant in incidence rate is all right but there’s a bunch of component parts that we can sort of infer here uh the first is that it involves a lot of substance use right and and that makes total sense because we know that Russian soldiers uh have been well recruited from we’re going to say some some some questionable sources they’ve been recruited heavily from prisons and generally within prisons uh you’re going to have a lot of people who have substance use disorders right uh these are people who get drunk and commit crimes and end up in prison these are people who um are involved in the drug trade as users as dealers as some kind of in between um or simply people who develop these problems once inside of a prison or penal colony and so that itself is going to facilitate it right when you draw out prisoners or prisoner based units people who don’t have substance use issues who are just predisposed to violence are also highly likely to be in these units and then but finally you get to what I think is actually one of the most Grim scenarios of Russian soldiers killing each other but before we talk about that I wanted to talk about the fact that if you’re interested in seeing some of the combat videos that is for the colonel tier so check us out combat news.com okay here is the thing for at least a year soldiers Russian soldiers Russia has been reportedly using barrier troops to prevent their soldiers from retreating particularly during High casualty operations or operations involving assault units these are undertrained underere equipped Russian troops who are forced into near suicidal assaults right and you may ask yourself as we often do why do these Russian troops go on these incredibly high-risk missions where they have basically no chance of survival oftentimes in tiny squads that aren’t even large enough to really dislodge the Ukrainian troops involved the answer is barrier troops and barrier troops is something that has been within the Russian military since at least the second world war in which more loyal Russian troops think like Russian military police uh will simply occupy the old positions of these assault units and say listen if the assault units come back to the line we’re going to shoot them you have to part you have to execute the mission until you’re done right as one interview points out again from last year Russian soldier on telegram channel is saying quote we took huge losses 34 people injured 22 died including our commander another unit another Soldier said his unit started at 161 men at the beginning of operations and then said quote they placed barrier troops behind us and weren’t letting us leave our position they’re threatening to destroy us one by one and as a unit they want to execute us as witnesses to of a completely negligent criminal leadership barrier troops are anti- Retreat forces right uh some of them to say quote our commanders are a criminal organization there’s no other way to put it this sounds like and this I think is one of the most dangerous situations in which Russian soldiers are executing each other not as part of sort of drunken uh uh conflict but as part of a deliberate Putin plan to ensure that these poorly trained desperate troops who are facing almost certain death remember facing certain death you it may appear to be a better option to try to fight your way out of the Russian military than to fight your way through the Ukrainian military and so to prevent troops from getting these kind of big ideas uh Russia is sitting there and putting better equipped units on this barrier role and often times this is by the rumors are that this is often chin units that do it the reason is because one chin have kind of because they’re a different religion and they’re often a unique and sort of literally a tribal uh people um that they don’t have as much empathy for these uh ethnic Russians who are in these units uh in some cases they may not even be able to communicate well with each other and so when these catchin are told listen if you don’t want to be on the other side of this equation of these assault units when you see these Russians come back just shoot them right don’t let them come back right so that’s kind of the rumor plus it preserves CH and combat power which is something that kadirov and other chin dictators really find important anyway guys that
