Is this a scam??

I’m asking this landlord for a viewing and the first biggest red flag came up: They’re not available for that. However, I still want to question closely more just to convince myself this is not a scam. What I clarify more here?

  1. Your gut, unfortunately, seems to be spot on. This is scam, with the goal of getting people’s ID to then use them to make other scams seem more credible.

Please read the Wiki articles linked, particularly the second one.

This particular one has showed up a few times lately. They link to a fake “agency” where you can skip a queue for viewing the flat by paying money, and where the flat is given to the first person who views and wants it (which is hilariously not how it works).

Trying to find evidence why something you recognise as a scam *isn’t* a scam is what gets people scammed.
