  1. Lol the 3d printed homes in my area cost 550-650k for 1900 sqft

The median price home is 375k

How about zoning law changes for local and state govts, and restrictions on corporate home ownership (which she did call out)

  2. Her plan is to devalue homes that first time buyers just purchased? On top of that, new buyers will get a down payment credit? What’s her plan for people that just bought homes and would be underwater on their investments?

  3. You could also just do away the down payment requirement all together to expedite this. Especially for first time home buyers or single home owners

  4. Or you could just go get a sweetheart deal on a house through a university.

  5. If you build more, you have to restrict investors from buying.

According to corelogic, investor activity has 2-3x since 2018, and more than 25% of the SFHs sold each month are purchased by investors.

  6. Good old common sense Katie and her magic money generator. We can legislate our way out of centuries of human behavior and systematic corruption.

  7. She’s in one breath saying we need to have affordable housing…but it should also be financially sound to own? You can have one or the other. Either you can prop up housing as an investment that increases in price or you can have it be affordable and go down in price. You can’t have both at the same time.

She’s on the right track to fix the problem. Cities and towns need to trim their zoning books with a chainsaw. It’s insane that we’ve been doing our damnedest to make sure no new housing gets built in established neighborhoods and encouraging individuals to build 2/3/4 plexes where there’s only a single house today makes a lot of sense. We’ve seen that building more housing results in lower rents and I’m tired of paying too much for too little.

  8. The Republican party has countered with their plan, which consists of a single middle finger pointed at the middle class and legalizing Asbestos.
