NATO working to prepare Ukraine for future membership in the alliance: Stoltenberg

our most urgent uh task at the summit will be support to Ukraine Ukraine must Prevail and they need our sustained support we will agree to work more closely with the with the Ukrainian Armed Forces including at the new NATO Ukraine joint analysis training and education center in Poland we will also work together to build Ukraine’s defense industry uh and deepen our cooperation on innovation all the work we are doing together is making Ukraine stronger more interoperable and better prepared uh than ever uh to join our alliance and it is for Ukraine to decide uh what are acceptable conditions for peace talks and any uh negotiated uh solution because Ukraine is a sovereign independent nation what we shall do as NATO allies is to help Ukraine to strengthen their hand uh because you know that there is a very strong link between what happens around the negotiating table uh and the situation on the [Music] battlefield there are no signs that that Putin is really President Putin is ready to negotiate for peace uh because we saw his latest proposal and that was that Ukraine should give up all the territory in the four prois provinces he has an nexted annexed illegally meaning that they should not only give up a territory that Russia controls today but actually give up a lot of territory that Ukraine controls today

NATO is actively working with Ukraine and preparing them to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), according to Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg. This includes efforts to build Ukraine’s defence industry and deepen cooperation on innovation.

“All the work we are doing is to make Ukraine stronger, more interoperable and better prepared to join our alliance,” Stoltenberg said at a news conference in Brussels, Belgium, ahead of the annual NATO conference.

Stoltenberg called NATO’s sustained support of Ukraine it’s “most urgent task” amid the country’s ongoing war with Russia. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has repeatedly pushed for NATO membership, but requires an agreement between all Allies.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly warned Western allies that it is risking a global war over Ukraine and that a direct conflict between Russia and NATO would mean the planet was one step away from a Third World War.

“There are no signs that President Putin is ready to negotiate for peace,” Stoltenberg said. “Because we saw his latest proposal and that was that Ukraine should give up all the territory in the four provinces he has annexed illegally,” he added.

  1. Such efforts are based upon the erroneous assumption that Russia will toletate Ukraine joining NATO. That they will finally accept that Russia is the doormat of Washington. That after 2 years of Russia fighting this war without full mobilization, the NATO governments think they can do this with impunity. Delusional!

  2. NATO hanya menimbulkan bancana kemanusian dan kehancuran hubungan internasional. NATO menciptakan Bencana kemanusian dan kemunduran ekonomi eropa👍 semua aliansi Nato dibebankan hutang penjualan peralatan tempur US😄

  3. “It’s totally unreasonable for Ukraine to give up a bunch of territory But we demand Russia give up a bunch of territories (1991 borders) which are full of ethnic Russians and that we tried and failed to take back. And if Putin says no then he is the unreasonable warmonger.”
    NATO,EU & the collective west;the first class 🤡🤡🤡 show.

  4. Why is this guy speaking he is one of the reasons why Ukraine has been destroyed he should leave with Macron and Sunak all very delusional and not in touch with reality

  5. I'm going to get myself a coffee – sit back – and now have fun and enjoy reading all of the angry KREM BOT & trolls comments here 🤣🤣. I just love the irony that they like using western media sources and freedom of speech so much here because they cannot at home in Putlers Reich…..

  6. Remember – Russia created NATO and now Putin is expanding it at a rate faster than ever before in history. Way to go Putin! THIS will be you're greatest political achievement…..thank you.

  7. It's cute how you guys think that ukrainenhas a chance at being fully let into nato when nato themselves have always said that "ukraine is too Russian" to let into nato…😂

  8. ‘’NATO expansion caused Russian invasion of Ukraine’’

Then lastly on Sweden. First of all, it is historic that now Finland is member of the Alliance. And we have to remember the background. The background was that President Putin declared in the autumn of 2021, and actually sent a draft treaty that they wanted NATO to sign, to promise no more NATO enlargement. That was what he sent us. And was a pre-condition for not invade Ukraine. Of course we didn't sign that.

  9. He's been HIBERNATE after his contract renewal last year. Now he's probably short of money to spend and wake up to ask for money from the members. Trudeau don't open your BIG MOUTH again to give up taxpayers money to HATO especially Ukraine.
    Canada should withdraw from NATO.
