Moment athlete falls off world’s longest slackline

Estonia’s Jaan Roose has made history as the first person to cross Italy’s Strait of Messina on foot, completing a breathtaking 2.4-mile journey along a slackline high above the water.

The walk took Roose nearly three hours, as he covered a distance longer than 30 football pitches on a piece of webbed fabric only 0.75 inches wide.

Roose started from a 870-foot high tower on Santa Trada, before going on to walk a distance surpassing the previous world record of 1.68-miles.
