  1. Before the 2022 invasion of Ukraine by Russia.

Hell, I didn’t know enough to care very much back then either.

  2. American abandoning its allies is not new! Putin must be drooling to get these elected as they would destroy the US from within!

  3. Simply put, JD Vance is most anti-Ukrainian Senator in the US. Aside from his 100% anti-Ukrainian voting record, he goes above and beyond to promote Russian narratives: Ukraine cannot win, Ukraine should cede land to end the war, Ukraine is corrupt and the US is writing it blank checks. He went as far as repeating the fake story about Zelensky’s yacht, and published[ this op-ed in the NYT against continuing to support Ukraine](https://www.nytimes.com/2024/04/12/opinion/jd-vance-ukraine.html). I’ve had a personal interaction with a Senator’s aide who told me a disturbing story about JD Vance laughing during a meeting about Ukraine.

I know there are still some who consider that Trump might be an improvement over Biden. I know your arguments well and have written before about why I find this unlikely. Choosing JD Vance as VP makes this prospect even more remote. JD Vance was selected for his [unwavering loyalty to Trump](https://snyder.substack.com/p/trump-seeks-vice), and their shared desire to [remake the American government](https://twitter.com/AccountableGOP/status/1812940196062642365) after seizing power.

However, JD Vance is smarter, younger and more ideological than Trump. Vance’s worldview and goals are inspired by the writings of [Curtis Yarvin.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curtis_Yarvin) You can read Yarvin’s views on Ukraine [here](https://graymirror.substack.com/p/a-clarification-on-ukraine) and [here](https://graymirror.substack.com/p/ukraine-the-tomb-of-liberal-nationalism) – it should make where Vance is coming from a lot clearer.

I urge those not indifferent to both America’s and Ukraine’s future to vote accordingly and talk to those around you. If you have not read Timothy Snyder’s On Tyranny, it’s short, and is essentially a manual for what to do as government moves towards authoritarianism.

  4. The opposite of what I have always been told, are our core values. “I don’t care.”

Right. That’s when we are our best, right.

Quisling acts brave in a land at peace. Fuck him.

  5. I’ve got a hundred reasons not to vote for this ticket, but I’ll add this to the list.

  6. I hope they edit the title to complete the sentence.
‘I don’t care about Ukraine’- JD Vance

Simply saying he doesnt care insinuates to people he may not necessarily block aid. I dont know much about this dude, but it sounds like hes trying to kill US aid outright

  7. It is really staggering and beyond comprehension the level of ignorance which these people are willing to live their lives and influence others on a path where no good can come from. Peace trumps all.

  8. Oh, lovely.

This is the only thing I actually know about this man, and it’s not a great start.

Being a former marine, you’d think he’d have some sort of connection to the Ukrainian fight against tyranny.

  9. Who the fuck is this man honestly… he’s a no one. the US may be frayed but the UK will stand with you til the fucking end. Take that for my word. I absolutely hate this.

    🇺🇦Слава Україні🇬🇧❤️💙💛🇺🇦

  10. Sometimes I have to recognize that warinfo on Americans went very successfully, they have representatives promoting enemys agenda and they prepare the path for their own fail. Incredible.

  11. Well, who would’ve thought?
Its no surprise why this asshat is Putins preferred pick for VP.

Vote blue to keep this bastard out

  12. That tracks with magats and goputinists. Remember for those in the US if we wish to support ukraine vote for biden

  13. There used to be a time when… people had principles, values… and tried to be the best version of themselves, especially when on a public platform. George Carlin explains it very well…

“Now, there’s one thing you might have noticed I don’t complain about: politicians. Everybody complains about politicians. Everybody says they suck. Well, where do people think these politicians come from? They don’t fall out of the sky. They don’t pass through a membrane from another reality. They come from American parents and American families, American homes, American schools, American churches, American businesses and American universities, and they are elected by American citizens. This is the best we can do folks. This is what we have to offer. It’s what our system produces: Garbage in, garbage out. If you have selfish, ignorant citizens, you’re going to get selfish, ignorant leaders. Term limits ain’t going to do any good; you’re just going to end up with a brand new bunch of selfish, ignorant Americans. So, maybe, maybe, maybe, it’s not the politicians who suck. Maybe something else sucks around here… like, the public. Yeah, the public sucks. There’s a nice campaign slogan for somebody: ‘The Public Sucks. F*ck Hope.'”
