Ukraine’s Zelensky: a new Trump presidency would be “hard work”| BBC News

Ukraine’s President Zelensky has told the BBC that if Donald Trump becomes the next US President, dealing with the new team in the White House would be “hard work, but we are not afraid of hard work”.

In an exclusive interview, Mr Zelensky said that “nobody in the world” could push Ukraine into an unjust peace deal with Russia that meant the permanent loss of Ukrainian territory.

Mr Trump has previously suggested that he could end the war between Russia and Ukraine in 24 hours. Mr Zelensky said that the “simple way” to do that would be to push Ukraine to “pay the price” of a peace deal by giving away land to Russia, but he said his country would never accept that.

Mr Zelensky was speaking at Blenheim Palace in the UK where he joined dozens of leaders and the UK’s new prime minister Keir Starmer, to discuss how they could help support Ukraine in its war with Russia.

  1. This guy got his country into a war. trump will not give him weapons for free. We are paying tax, and most of it goes to this guy pocket
Ukrainian can't win against Russia. it's not hard to understand.

  2. 😂😂😂.Englezi podržavaju klovna više nego Ukrajinci!Blago njima!Baš me zanima kako će se ponašati kad Tramp ❤ bude predsjednik SAD!Hoće li i tad podržavati fašiste iz Ukrajine!

  3. There won't be hard work anymore Zelensky because Trump won't fund you anymore. But of course we all know that Trump won't stop the war, the deep state has already invested a lot from Ukraine and they need to recoup the investments whatsoever.

  4. BBC won't ask real questions. "So, how much does Ukraine earn from storing EU's excess LNG?" , "So, how much of the land RU currently occupies was leased out to Western Ag firms before the war?" , "Why is having a Western-friendly Ukraine so important to the EU??"

  5. is better that the midget clown travelling begger zelensky get ready for it becouse is coming. some regulations about FAKE NEWS would help too so BBC should be worried!

  6. Typical bbc.

From the times they were defending and providing cover for colnialesm to now propagating wok riligeon and their working ways and dogmass.

  7. Why should Ukraine depend on what happens in other countries instead of forging its own future…it has enough resources than a dozen of countries .
The west is over misleading zalensky

  8. This journalist is a complete plonker, putting words in his mouth, Trump could mistake the hard work comment and completely change the faith of the Ukrainian people

  9. Amenyire aljas ez a színész, biztos nem fél. Van pénz bőven Ursula nyomja, hiszen amerikai érdeke van. Nem normálisak az EU képviselők akik őt megválasztották. Féltik a jó életüket. A poloska petinek Ursula visszatartotta a Hazánknak járó pénzt, nehogy Orbán Kormány kapja meg. Bezzeg petike megkaphatja a jó életéhez, ő aztán nem korrupt?

  10. You all such a clowns and false information, it damages the people, people’s trust in facts not narrative on fake propaganda news ,
How you will feel when the truth comes out , such a shame on your media and your people

  11. It looks Zelensky, who's presidency has ended couple of months ago, leads Ukrainians to an impasse.
He doubled casualties of Ukrainian troops around NATO summit time, brought it to 14 000 killed and wounded weekly, trying to show some success on battlefield, but without success. As Zelensky and his predecessor Poroshenko were saying: battlefield is Ukrainian diplomacy and Ukrainian troops are the best negotiators.
What is the purpose and the price of these "negotiations"?

  12. Why not #BBC ask him about Democratic election. You agree that if the war takes 10 or 20 years, it is ok for #BBC while harassing African leades that have 10 years developement plan.
