Labour mayor rejoices as former Scottish Tory leader describes exit poll as ‘massacre’

Ruth Davidson, the former Scottish Tory leader, has described the exit poll as projecting a ‘massacre’ for her party. But it was not as bad as it might have been, she told Sky News.

She said: ‘So actually, 131 – while there is no dressing it up, this is a massacre – they’ve actually, if this is right, pulled a few back from where they thought they were.’ The Labour party was predicted to win by a ‘landslide’ in the 10pm exit poll, regaining dozens of seats lost in the 2019 elections

  1. It’s like choosing which of your enemies you want to become your boss. This country needs change and we won’t get it with either of the main two parties

  2. So American observer, am I the only one who finds it a little bit ironic that you guys are holding your elections on the same date as our independence Day. The day we became independent from Britain.

  3. As a recent pensioner – my retirement plans wrecked by Covid – I am very scared of what the future holds. Pretty sure the Tories were desperate to hand this mess over to Labour – now it is their problem. Welcome to the fire.

  4. The Tories have been dreadful but it’s about to get much worse. Will the last hard working, tax payer with family values turn off the light when they leave please. Huge exodus coming

  5. Tbh i can't believe anyone would still vote for the tories. Who would you trust less to pull the UK out of the hole we're in than THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE SPENT THE LAST 14 YEARS PUTTING US THERE???

  6. Believe me. We will get
change with Labour in power. A drastic change for the worse. Crime, the economy , the NHS, the education system, unskilled immigration, and general quality of life will get much worse. The country is doomed.

  7. Curious to see people celebrating as if Labour will be any different, seems people haven’t been paying attention.
Tory tears? The tories can’t stand the tories

  8. Lol! What’s she on? The Tories have been well and truly thumped! It was even worse than the exit polls suggested, the Tories picking up 121 seats, with one still to declare in the Orkney’s, I think.

They must think that they have been thumped by a young Mike Tyson in his prime, before Don King ruined him.

  9. You could look at the last 14 years as the greatest looting of sovereign wealth to private hands in history and the decimation of public services leading to brexit and again untrammelled wealth transfer and we haven’t even got to ppe 😂 so in some ways quite successful just depends
Life in Britain is becoming increasingly brutalised
    Bob crow 👌🏽
