Wait, which real life location is “Hawk Tuah” supposed to be? 😂
Not Folklore as such because they were real people, though there’s a fair amount of folklore surrounding them but the Pendle Witches might make a good addition and Pendle Hill (which literally translates as Hill Hill Hill)
The Cerne Giant and Uffington White Horse are appropriately fantasy
I love how Birmingham/ Black Country is Old Furnace as that was a major coal mining and manufacturing area, but also has some great woodland; to the extent that it inspired LOTR. Perhaps a reference to some of the Tolkienesque enchantments around Old Furnace as a nod to that could fill it out a little
“Mighty Fumes” is bang on point. Love this.
If the Thames was renamed the Thangs…
Hawk Tuah on Thangs
Hadrians Wall between England and Scotland, the Romans built a gigantic wall across the entire country to regulate trade/stop reaving. Its still here today, although the stone has been used for many buildings in the surrounding area. The map looks lovely BTW.
The Northumberland coast is home to various sea castles, built to control movements between Scotland and England by sea. Currently it’s rather empty on your mall, but you could have something fun there around sea-based military powers.
The Lake District was home at one point to Coleridge, who wrote Kubla Khan, a poem based on a hallucinatory vision or dream (“In Xanadu did Kubla Khan a stately pleasure-dome decree: where Alph, the sacred river, ran through caverns measureless to man, down to a sunless sea”). Maybe you can do something with that.
I wish I could see the second pic but when I zoom in nothing is readable. Strangely the quality of the first is good
I’m Welsh and I thought you’d covered us in sheep for a minute. Horrifyingly accurate!
I find all of the names pretty jarring tbh. I also can only associate Glovers with Yeovil.

Something i will always remember is the Devils Arse is in Derbyshire in the Hope Valley.
Why the Devils Arese is so closde to Hope i dont know but i’m sure you can spin that well in a fantasy map.
Why would you put Hawk Tuah on there 😭
Kloppool would be a great spot for a vast “Raft City” with a heavy nautical theme. They just keep expanding out across the water either side of the Swirral until the city is essentially floating in the middle.
also Kloppool and Broadspiner are bitter rivals but will always answer the call of the other if needed – they cannot function well without the challenge of the other. Thus they are left alone to grow and begin to threaten the south
OP can you link to a separate image? it’s almost impossible to zoom in with Reddit’s annoying image viewer
Cheesester sounds like my kind of place.
I love that they’re all made up but for some arbitrary reason there’s still Prittlewell
I’d rename most of it.
And I question some of the geological features. If you’re going to “fantasy-ify” the country then go all out and get real creative with it.
While we’re on that. Why stop at England? Make a fantasy British Isles.
But it’s a decent starting point.
You probably want Robin Hood’s home of Sherwood Forest on there, west of Abraham south east of Sandygate, maybe called Hoodsville or Robinton or similar.
