  1. I have no love for either of the two main liars, but here we go again, the Labour excuses and tax rises are already here. The mug punters who didn't give Reform a chance will be kicking themselves soon.

  2. Yip…and with most councils across the UK Labour run WITH a Labour government there's really NO EXCUSE to not get things done. Over to you Labour…no going back saying "Tories this" and "Tories that"…people want change.

  3. Can you stop blaming the previous government. 14 years meant you didn’t get elected for two terms which mean the alternative was better than you. You are now elected so get on with it. DELIVER

  4. Typical labour. You are in charge now. It doesnt matter what they did. Its down to you to fix it so stop blaming everyone before you even lift a pen! Remember when Brown got ousted out of power, you left the larder bare and the vaults empty with a stack of debts we had to pay interest on!

  5. Basically they,re in power now
and full of it, but rest assured it's the working class who will be still suffering in 4 years time. Its only the name thats different but the ruthless assault will continue on us all.

  6. Cancel Hunts tax grabbing personal allowance frozen until 2028 and abolish the disgraceful standing charges being charged on utility bills which cost every household £300 annually.

  7. So basically , when labour doesnt meet whatever it is they have said is going to be done , the blame can be straight back to the tories.

  8. Usually, I would hear this as someone making excuses ahead of the failure. However, on this occasion from everything I know from people in finance, I am afraid she is right. The worst bit is that the party responsible for this unprecedented financial failure is the one supposed to have state finance as its focus, the financially responsible party. Rubbish…

  9. Getting your excuses in early.
I suspect Thatcher inherited the worst set of circumstances since the Second World War. Our economy in ruins, and dominated by the unions, the Winter of Discontent and Britain labled ‘the sick man of Europe.’ All thanks to Labour.
This new lot are going to turn us into the Venezuela of Europe unless the French beat us in the race to the bottom.

  10. A diificult decision is controlling immigration, reducing the need for building over our precious countryside. Labour takes easy decisions, giving amnestys to illegal immigrants, tearing up planning rules, soft on crime, taxing those who strive and save, those who are independent and get a pension. Not my government.

  11. And so the blame game begins. I am not interested in why I am interested in what you are going to do about it and how it affects us loyal cash cows. The only decision Ms Reeves needs to make next is which property she is going to go back to after this news conference giving us the standard political speech. New government same old nonsense of finger pointing and do as we say not as we do

  12. This is not the worst set of circumstances at all. That was during the pandemic. Saying this is just an excuse to exclude themselves from accountability if they f**k up.

  13. Rubbish. She may have inherited the worst financial situation since the 2008 crash but that was worse than post war Britain. But she forgets about the pandemic caused most of it. And don’t tell me Labour would have coped with that. No one would

  14. Getting all the early excuses in for the inevitable failure to improve anything apart from pour money into Ukraine and Israel but nothing for the people of the uk

  15. She hasn't said anything here. More nonsense where you miss out the extreme chamges they're making. Also, what she has said here isn't true, merely her point of view shrouded in lies.

  16. Quite simply untrue. The UK is doing better than any country withing the EU, post covid. After 15 years of Blair and Brown the UK was totally bankrupt. Reeves doesnt have a clue and will be an absolute disaster.

  17. Rachel has got her knickers in a twist, she states the worse economic figures since World War 2.Actually the economy is growing at the fastest pace in over 2 years with GDP surging 0.4 % in May.From January to March the economy grew 0.7% figures for April to June not available the truth is the economy is growing thanks to the little man RS,Rachel is inheriting a very positive economy. Why mislead people with false information, what’s happened to the CHANGE were has the transparency and integrity gone , what a disappointment same old cow dung.
