Trump shooter’s father speaks out for first time since assassination attempt | LiveNOW from FOX

The father of the man who tried to assassinate former president Donald Trump speaks out for the first time. Matthew Crooks was seen leaving a grocery store in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania on Monday, July 22. He said the family is trying to “take care of ourselves.”

It’s Matthew Crooks’ first public appearance since the assassination attempt nine days earlier.

Crooks said in part quote: “we just want to try to take care of ourselves right now. Please, just give us our space.”

He also said the family will release a statement once they are advised by legal counsel.

20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks was killed by a Secret Service sniper after opening fire at the Trump rally. Investigators believe that the ar-15 rifle used in the attack was legally purchased years earlier by Crook’s father. The family is said to be cooperating with the investigation.

  1. I hope these "parents" are being investigated also. They are "behavioral experts" and yet did not see any signs of mental instability in their son?

  2. This is pathetic of these “reporters/ journalists”… back off of these ppl unless thers sumthin to point to them knowing and so far ther isn’t that I’ve heard. Media is so horrible

  3. Leave this family alone! They arent responsible for their adult Childs actions. Regardless of how you feel about those actions this man has lost his son. No amount of disappointment for what he did can cover that kind of grief. Have some G0d damn empathy and respect 🤬

  4. He didn’t snap back ! He calmly said no comment and when our legal counsel advises us to do so we’ll make a statement . These jerk offs kept pushing him after he repeatedly said no comment ! And of course , faux “news” is the one covering this .

  5. That was very rude of the news person to ask if the "body has been released to you yet?"" they need prayers for their family as well as the innocent man Cory who was killed and the others who were injured. It's likely not that they raised a murderer/assassin and are likely grieving their loss and the entire ordeal has to be trying.

  6. Why am I not surprised. The media is relentless, and they did just lose a child, Let them grieve. Typical media tactics, I’ll bet it’s a circus at their home.

  7. Dude struggling to push his cart full of soda, little chocolate donuts, and other garbage to his car parked in handicapped parking…

this guy counsels people on what exactly? Encouraging …

  8. This media dont have respect, the snapper was adult not children , you media don’t get they were worrying about thir son he y be in danger. This media need have common sense!

  9. Leave the guy alone unless you can produce concrete evidence that he supported his son’s actions. This is not a story that helps us understand anything or prevent further attacks against Trump. Right now that matters most to me…how will our country survive until Trump is inaugurated?

  10. Actually on a businesses property it is not in public and laws to video and photograph customers without the written permission of both parties are not in favor of videoing party.
Sure you may get away with it like democrat kiddy piddlers on Epstein's island got away it but it doesn't make it right.
