  1. I am not German, so I do not know how they feel about this. If these were Americans doing this I might be tempted to say “well,…..bye”.

  2. Oh they’ll regret that once Putin has to conscript “real” Russians for the Ukrainian meatgrinder.

  3. Moving to an occupied town…. I see “traditional values” here for RuZZians…

  4. As a German I can only say: Bye! Don’t come back! Don’t let the door hit you on the way out!

  5. By ‘traditional values’, do they mean a quality of life comparable to the 1940s? Because that’s what you’re getting in Russia

  6. 😆 The Russian state will do all they can to get them to sign up in the army and head straight to the front lines ..

  7. Senseless war, incompetent navy, strongman rule, select cadre of oligarchs and an inverse pyramid of serfs, rampant disease and alcoholism, cratered life expectancy.

I hate to tell them, but this *is* “traditional Russian” society they see before their eyes.

  8. Very interesting article – thanks for sharing!

This has the potential for very interesting future repercussions – definitely all of these people should go to Kaliningrad.

  9. So….do they keep their German citizenship? Still vote in German and EU elections?

  10. My grandparents were German speakers in what is now kaliningrad. No love lost, and I’m American.

Why these guys want to self sort back to Russia I have no idea, but I will bid them good riddance. Don’t let the door hit you on your way out.

  11. It’s very very very sad that people have the amount of information they do but still choose to be ignorant. What person could actually debate the merits of uprooting their families into Russian culture? I couldn’t possibly imagine how stupid some people seem to be. Willingly signing up for authoritarian subjugation! It’s wild.
