Regardless of anyone’s position in the war, the Black Sea theatre has been a catastrophic Russian failure (and vice-versa, a major Ukrainian success). Everyone knew that Russia isn’t a major power at sea and their navy is far from the top of their priorities list, but the combination of what they had there and their air superiority should have been enough for them to control the theatre. They have been unable to give a good response to asymmetrical warfare and have lost way too many assets, and as a consequence they have lost any semblance of control they had. Good news for us who support Ukraine!
