I don’t know about other sports, but in swimming it looks like Australia is going to win medals to its heart’s content.
I love swimming and I loved this race but honestly, for the “race of the century” I was expecting a bit more. I can say the same for the men’s 400 Free as it really seemed as though literally any of them could break the world record and no one was even within a second. For the women, it was pretty clear even before prelims that Ariarne was the favourite but I wish we had gotten to see a bit more speed from her as well as more of a race from McIntosh and Ledecky. McIntosh only went a second faster than she did at Canadian Trials where she had no competition and Ledecky went around the same time as she went at American Trials. It was still a good race nevertheless but I was really hoping we’d get to see them all push each other under the world record.
Fantastic! So happy for Ariarne, she’s a champion.
Was cheering for Katie, but Ariarne was an absolute beast and earned that Gold.
Summer is also one to look out for in future Olympics games.
