Your opinion of Shrewsbury has yet to be influenced by Ditherington, I see 😂
Edit: context – I live in Ditherington
Ludlow might just pip Shrewsbury to the post for the title of ‘most beautiful town’. The Marches as a whole are very picturesque (well, perhaps not Connah’s Quay).
Ludlow and Bridgnorth are pretty nice too. Ludlow’s castle is brilliant, while Bridgnorth’s is… somewhat exploded but what remains leans a lot and looks cool. Plus Bridgnorth has the cliff railway which is pretty unusual. When I lived there, I’d sometimes use it to avoid walking up Cartway and seeing how tourists reacted to it, especially kids, was always endearing. Then there’s Ironbridge too, which of course has the iron bridge, as well as an adorable longstanding teddy bear shop and loads of amazing museums.
I mean look, Shropshire in general, pretty damn good. Great walks, great views, great towns. Just watch out for potholes, there’s a lot of those too.
