  1. You’ve managed to wipe Wolverhampton out.

    Eh, not my worst day.

  2. I mean, I’m not convinced ‘North’ampton should be considered the south.

  3. As a long term resident of Northampton, I completely agree.

  4. Incorrect, the “Midlands” is a lie made by deep state operatives so that both northerners and s*utherners can agree upon a common enemy

  5. So do the bits of Wales that border up to the posh midlands become posh Wales?

  6. Given the discussions I’ve had that Stoke is in the North , I approve of this map

  7. I object on a moral level to being lumped in with Leicester.

  8. “Posh Midlands” includes places like Redditch and Kidderminster, so it’s not great

  9. Shrewbury posh???? what are you thinking.

P.S. It’s pronounced Shroesbury not Shrews bury

Saying that it’s not posh though reminds me of when we went to see Stephen k Amos at theatre severn.
He commented on how there was not one black face in the audience and then started talking to someone who went to Shrewsbury School (the private school) who was on the front row and asked him if there were any black people at the school.

The lad dropped himself right in it with the reply of “Of course…….. but that’s the staff”.

  10. I’m a little bit miffed that you’ve included Coventry in the Brummie partition, I feel it should be in its own section titled ‘The Arsehole of the Midlands’

  11. I’m from Warwickshire and got called a ‘Posh Brummy’ by my section commander back in my Army days.

    Seems about right.

  12. Ooooo I live in the posh bit! ..You wouldn’t think so with mighty gob on me :’D

  13. As someone who grew up in Worcester the idea of it being “posh” is hilarious.

  14. As a Spaldanite, I can confirm. There’s now but farmland, tractors and dykes for mile around… and the occasional grass snake.

  15. I’m from Telford and have since moved to Shrewsbury with the impression that it was posh, and let me tell you that it is a lie. Streets lined with junkies and kids who do not give a fuck about you.
With that being said, would still rather live here than Wolverhampton.

  16. I can’t accept a map of the midlands without Rutland water

  17. Lmfao, anyone who has actually stepped foot in Hereford would know exactly how inaccurate this post is…. The only posh part of Hereford is Hampton dene and the college area…

Everywhere else is a dump.. ask any local. 😂😂

  18. As a Worcester lad I’m disgraced that we’re posh. Malverns are, that’s fair, but the amount of times I’ve seen images of people doing crack in the McDonalds, or when I literally saw someone destroy the Tesco’s, or the very loud screaming between homeless people into the street is insane.

  19. Er no… don’t be trying to palm Stoke off on us. Edit – we’ll happily take Glossop though.

  20. Thank you. As a life-long Derbyshire resident, I welcome anything to distance ourselves from the Midlands, Derby, Nottingham and, especially, Brummies.

  21. Alas my poor city. Will Coventry ever get the resp-

No, no I’ll stop there who am I kidding.

  22. Everyone from Cov meet in the Spon End underpass we’re gonna find and OP and batter him

  23. Been spendin’ most their lives

    Livin’ in a farmer’s paradise

  24. I had heard people say that anything above Stoke was basically the North but I wasn’t sure if that was just glossop

  25. There’s no such thing as the midlands. It’s just Northerners/Southerners (delete as appropriate) in denial.

  26. Not sure I’d call Lincolnshire a paradise, even for farmers…

  27. Fun linguistic, accent-based (depending on how you combine certain [isoglosses](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isogloss)) argument to add to this:

    > Manchester is in the midlands.

    > But the midlands is just a subsection of The North.

You can annoy a LOT of people with that one.

  28. You’re going to offend a lot of folk in The Black Country here.

  29. “Basically the South” – but it’s got the word “North” in it! If it’s got the word “North” in it, how can it be the South???/?

  30. Shropshire is NOT posh. It’s all either the nicest or worst people you’ve met.

  31. I’m far from posh but I’ll take it as a compliment

  32. Had an ex from near Worcester. If he’s posh then I worry for the rest of the Midlands haha.

  33. For some inexplicable reason I always class Derby as north.

  34. Us in Rugby left out, we are just a glorified services for the M6 tbf!
