Not a swimmer so don’t really know the benefits, but seemed she didn’t breathe the last few strokes driving to the finish head down where Walsh was driving head up.. maybe someone can comment
Great race,breaststroke looks exhausting,but they still won. I admire their dedication

She was insane on that back half to make up the literally fraction of a second get the wall before her NBA wingspan teammate.
That shit was boss. And then her reaction was just why I watch the Olympics. Amazing.
A bit interesting that arguably the top 3 most accomplished in this event (going by medals) in the past 5 years are all of Chinese descent.
Torri Huske won gold in 2022/2024 and bronze in 2023; Maggie MacNeil won gold in 2019/2021 and silver in 2023; and Zhang Yufei won gold in 2023, silver in 2021, and bronze in 2022/2024.
That’s 10/15 of the available medals in the 5 championships with all 5 of the golds. Besides them are Emma McKeon (bronze 2019/2021), Sarah Sjostrom (2019 silver), Marie Wattel (2022 silver) and Gretchen Walsh (2024 silver)
Very very happy for her.
Felt like huske didn’t know how to react because Walsh was “supposed” to win. Walsh wasn’t happy with that silver
