    I would color each bar with # of each medal somehow

  3. A better scale is 5, 3, 1. Three bronze medals should not be equivalent to a single gold, and the 3, 2, 1 scale overvalues them.

  4. Would be interesting to see the final results with some kind of context for GDP and/or population.

  5. I’ve often thought about what is an appropriate weighing scheme.

    Personally I like 5, 3, and 2 points.  Totally subjective, but I feel like the gap from gold to silver is more significant than silver to bronze.

  6. Could you do one again using 6-3-1 point system? Gold is easily twice as valuable as silver, and bronze even less.

  7. Cool – labels can be more concise tho. United States, China, South Korea, United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Moldova
