According to many sources, Nico is bending towards staying at Athletic Bilbao as they are improving his current contract as well as because of pressure from his family. He might have already made his decision too and honestly I had a bad feeling about it too. We already offered him a contract a while ago but people are still blaming Deco and Laporta for no reason, this isn’t their fault atleast in this case. What do you all think whom should we target instead of Nico as a LW?

  1. I’m still hopeful about the situation. Look at Nico’s story. Bro is just chilling. The only people he told were his family, like Inaki. I don’t know what kind of internal sources people have and will wait and see what happens.

  2. I don’t really feel you can blame the club much. He’s at a club that has been on the upswing, where his brother plays, where he’s treated and paid well, and where he’s respected. How many people would really wanna leave that situation?

  3. It’s not even August yet. There is another whole month of the transfer window. Also don’t forget that the Nike deal hasn’t even been signed yet. It seems to me there are still tons of moving parts here.

  4. Why don’t we wait until the transfer window is over to say anything?

The only way you can believe the “many sources” is if you are a very new football fan of a few months prior. You should know already that basically the only reliable source in football is Fabrizio Romano. All the other “many sources” get wrong 99 out of 100 reports.

  5. Honestly, with our financial situation, the best we can hope for is to loan Joao Felix for another year, and buy a proper DM with whatever money we have.

  6. We don’t have the money to pay for the release clause.

With not being able to sell FDJ, giving Ansu an idiotic contract, buying Roque plus many other things. We just can’t afford it.

It is Laporta and Deco’s fault but now they will say Nico didn’t want to move.

Same with Messi, they asked him to wait, knowing he couldn’t and knowing they wouldn’t be able to sign him. Once he decided to go to Miami they said Messi was the one that didn’t wait/wanted to come.

Not getting Nico for 60m is the biggest blunder and should cost Laporta the presidency
