We moved to Germany on 06.07.2024 and after 1 months we have created our registration for radio tax. Recently we got a letter like this. As I now the tax is 18 euro per month. But why there is such huge numbers? Could someone explain it please?

312,12 € are exactly 17 months of contribution. As this includes August/September, they someone assume you had to pay from May 2023.
Did you by any chance made an error during registration and mixed the year up? Or are we missing something?
If you haven’t been to Germany before, contact them and sort it out.
