Aussie women were mentally rattled after losing to Canada. They were openly sobbing at the stadium at the conclusion of the game. Don’t think they quite got over it and as a result had a lapse. US played a great game as well of course but the Aussies – who are world champs – absolutely cooked it.
I’ve been absolutely obsessed with rugby since the beginning of these Olympics, so I’m so sad I missed this live, but what an absolute fucking display from the Americans. I knew the result and even yelled “GO GO GO!” watching this replay. Tremendous work!
All countries in the semi-final played great! These women played hard and made an exciting game. This was definitely an Olympic high point.

I gotta feel for Teagan Levi who dropped the ball in a crucial spot vs Canada and then missed the tackle on that last play. Nightmare scenario. Well done to the USA, on paper Australia should put on 30+ but this is why I love the olympics!!!
