Houthis sink Greek-owned coal carrier in Red Sea

Yemen’s #Houthis have released a video showing a June 12 attack on the Greek-owned MV Tutor coal carrier in the Red Sea, as salvagers confirmed the #sinking of the vessel.

Maritime security companies and the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) confirmed that the Tutor was struck with #missiles and an explosive-laden remote-controlled boat.

The attack on the Tutor marks the second sinking of a commercial vessel by the Houthis since November, in what they say are actions carried out in solidarity with Palestinians in #Gaza.

  1. Not sure of the timeline lining up with the videos. 1st strike was at the stern/rear flooding engine room. 2nd strike was midship , causing severe structural and flooding. Was reported that they happened close together, but no smoke visible from the first strike when the 2nd strike happened. I think they happened days apart. The 3 blasts along the sides were demo chages set to sink her by whatever Navy's out there to clear shipping lanes . It was a bulk carrier with ether lumber or coal on board.
