Full disclaimer I do want Roque to stay at the club, and yes I feel he can be a great player for us, no he didn’t play amazing this game though.
But look how open Roque is here. Pau played a great game and so did most of the team, but does anyone think this is a very selfish decision. Roque is in space and Pau passing the ball there definitely makes it a goal scoring opportunity. Pau and most of the the Barcelona B/ La masia seem to rather play with each other rather than add Vitor. Maybe I’m going full conspiracy mode but I do think they feel more comfortable playing with each other since they have for so long and have experience together. I also know this does happen to every striker at one point or another being open and not getting the ball but I feel it’s convenient for Pau to not pass the ball to the guy he’s technically fighting with for a spot. Regardless I hope to see what Roque can do this pre season and I hope he gets a full season at the club. I also think Pau Víctor looks good but I liked Guiu too so hopefully he does get chances this season and or is on the first team next season.
