GB got absolutely fucking robbed. zero chance that first Arg run was a full point better than both. somebody was paid off.
I am biased since I’m French, but I must admit I really don’t understand why he finished third only.
To my non expert eyes, the French and the British were both better than the Argentinian run.
To me him and the UK guy (forgot his name I’m sorry) did way better than the Arg guy..but i’m not a jury member. GG !
First time viewer here as well, he came out explosive on that second run. So happy I caught this finals
I enjoyed the first British run the most and then the French, surprised Britain didn’t take the gold there.

Not more insane than the judges criteria! Inconsistent throughout the whole competitions (Men’s and Women’s)!
Disappointed this didn’t get gold- obviously the Argentinian’s first run was a standout but Jeanjean really took it to another level
Judging is going to have to become more objective in the future like gymnastics
That run probably should have been gold or at the very least silver.

Im fine with the argentinian and GB rating, but even the german broadcast didn’t understand why france was rated so low. Everyone was standing during his run and we all thought he has to take gold.
Jeanjean deserved gold for that run
As an unbiased observer, that was a gold worthy performance.
I’m something of a sport omnivore and imo BMX has had the most insane progression in the last 20 or so years. Dave Mirra would literally shit his pants if he saw this.
I agree with everyone that the last two runs by both the British and French riders were superior. The only noteworthy aspect of the Argentinian’s first run was its amplitude, height, and transitions, which I believe the judges heavily considered, especially given the women’s event. Additionally, the Argentinian’s final trick was attempted out of time, so it didn’t incur any penalties as far as I understand. This situation is reminiscent of the Winter Olympics, where the first run is often scored highly, and subsequent runs don’t receive the same level of judgment. Regardless of your favorite rider, it was a fantastic event.
You missed out on the early 2000s. Matt Hoffman vs Ryan Nyquist every year at the X Games was a battle.
Very unlucky for the French.
First Argentinian run was over scored and both France and Britain lost a fair chance at the gold because of that.
The atmosphere was electric there up there with the canoe slalom run yesterday.
This is the stuff they need to show in prime time.
I watched bmx for the first time as well. This sport is so cool. I honestly thought he would win gold. I think he did better than the Argentinian guy.

Wow. This sport has come a long way since I watched it as a kid in Sunday afternoon xgames broadcasts.
