[OC] Every day of infancy is safer than in the past

  1. [OC] I made this chart with ggplot & Adobe Illustrator.

    The data comes from the Office for National Statistics in England & Wales.

    The chart was published on Our World in Data, as part of an article: [“How does the risk of death change with age — and how has this changed over time?”](https://ourworldindata.org/how-do-the-risks-of-death-change-as-people-age)

  2. It would be interesting to include miscarriage and still births in this by going to negative days.

    It would be even more interesting if we had data on very early miscarriage (first trimester), which are easily mistaken as a period.

  3. Looks great! The display and the implications. Color scheme works well.

    Would be nice to see a similar curve for mother mortality before and after? Well, maybe not nice…

    Edit: just saw this is lower UK – was thinking US
