why are the sankey lines criss-crossing at the end
So how come a non-profit is making profit?
I assume they re-invest it internally
The American Red Cross is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. They don’t have a “net profit” — those surplus revenues have to be used in a way that furthers the org’s charitable purpose.
>How American Red Cross Spends Your Donation Dollars
are you sure those are how they spend our donations? this looks like it has other income streams like government grants, product sales, contracts, and their own investments
You don’t need a (T) in front of every number. Just put on top of the chart that all figures are USD (000’s)
So they use money for fundraising but they have no income from it…
My mum worked for ARC. They waste a huge amount of plasma & blood products for no reason other than poor management & stupidity.
They don’t care about the wastefulness. My mum wanted to retire because of this nonsense. She pointed out all the problems & lo & behold, she received a payout for an early retirement & signed a NDA. If the public knew how much is wasted & mishandled, there would be an upheaval. They are not the saving angels some wish to believe.
Maybe this should be obvious, but what is the point of the center area of these sankey charts? It looks like limbo or that the center of the visual is not being used. Thanks
Scam outfit. How do people still not know this?
“T” really makes it seem like a way bigger spend than it actually is. Might want to make it “K”.
I don’t want to assume anything. What does the “(T)” represent?
What is up with the (t) are they spending 2,000,000 Trillion on Biomedical services?
Looks reasonable and responsible to me. ARC spends 75% on supporting their mission through service to people, have 15% that looks like it’s reinvested to future budgets and spends 10% to pay for operations including fundraising and salaries. So approximately, 90% to their mission. Thank you ARC.
The chart is a little confusing with the word service have several meanings, but overall it’s informative.
