For all the naysayers, I’m sure he’s been tested and will keep being tested a lot during the Olympics, but keep in mind Pan himself has competed in many events in this Olympics itself and didn’t crush peoples times, and has not been involved in any controversy.
He’s just good in the 100 free and had the WR previously.

I am not sure people realize how incredible this performance is, especially in an allegedly slow pool, it’s like if Bolt broke the 100m record by half a second.

The other day somebody said that there probably won’t be any World Records set in swimming this year because the pool is shallower and therefore more turbulent during the races. Was that bullshit or did Pan simply overcome that extra challenge today?

Yes, he has incredible explosive power, and he’s very young. Seeing him leading by a full body length in the replay, I feel this record won’t be broken in the next several years. Congratulations.
