  1. The “and then Greece and the east” part was constructed hundreds of years later.

  2. Somehow italy should find a way, the “The Road Most Travelled” from Morrowind Soundtrack is played all the time, when you are going this road.

  3. For a moment I thought the first photo was one of those where you squint and it reveals the face of Jesus or Che Guevara or whomever.

    That aside, I’m surprised the Appian Way wasn’t already a World Heritage Site. Just look at it!

  7. When I was in Rome the first time, I went to walk on the Via Appia. Nobody else did then.
