Governments:

What happened? Is this permanent or rather a temporary phenomenon?

I live close to the Seven Rila lakes. Seeing this photo I fear that am looking into the future.
It’s covered in snow ⛄️, that’s so cool
We could close the whole world due to COVID-19, but the threat of climate change? Whatever

They are quite shallow so it’s very easy for them to shrink or increase in size. There have been documented instances of this lake disappearing and reappearing since at least the 1990s. This seems to have been a part of the natural cycle as the local wildlife is adapted to these dramatic shifts.
So while this pic isn’t exactly wrong, it is misleading because these lakes will be back eventually. They are not gone for good. However, it should be noted that due to climate changes, the lakes might come back smaller and stay drier for longer periods of time. There’s an issue, but it isn’t too late to do something about it.
