  1. Can’t get better than winning gold in the 100 m sprint for your country’s first ever medal! What an achievement 🇱🇨

  2. Absolutely crushed the field. Amazing sprint, and winning your country’s first medal in (IMO) the women’s crown jewel of the Olympics has to be something else.

  3. Congrats to her, she did amazing. But that track being soaking wet is kinda unacceptable, like super unsafe. There should be a good enough drainage system that it isn’t puddling but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Don’t think it affected the outcome, but still unsafe. Worked enough track meets in my life to know they should have at least squeegeed it

  4. I’m still sad that Swoboda missed the final by 0.01 seconds but also so happy for Julien and St Lucia. What a woman, what a race.

  5. I love how NBC was saying “Richardson just chose not to chase her down in the semifinal”

She literally could not chase her down if she wanted to lol

  6. I’m American but I will always root for a country to get their first medal, even over Americans. I want every country to be able to celebrate Olympic gold at least once. This one is especially cool because it was achieved in one of the most prominent and high profile events in the entire games. Any medal is special, but oftentimes a team’s first medal is a bronze in an obscure martial art. This is a gold in a top ten most prestigious event.

  7. So happy for her! What an amazing achievement and to do it in such a staked final too!

  8. So sad that Sha’Carri didn’t win, but this is the perfect trade-off. Congrats to her and the rest of the country!

  9. Happy for Alfred. She was not going to be beaten with the way she ran. great run by Richardson and Jefferson as well. Been a while since US women had two women on the 100 podium.

  10. This woman ran her heart out and made history for her nation! Congratulations to her and St. Lucia! Way to be!!
