  1. 37 years old. Just had knee surgery, never lost a set in the tourney, beat Carlitos in the final to complete the golden slam. 🤷🏽‍♂️🐐

  2. Tearing up at this celebration. After the tribulations of this year!! So well deserved, the best to ever do it! Everything you can accomplish, he’s done it. We are lucky to have seen it.

  3. Man I’m getting emotional here. I’m so happy for the goat to finally get his Golden Slam

  4. You’ve got to feel for Alcaraz, he gave everything he had and it really was a stellar effort by him. Watching his interview was super emotional. I’m sure he’ll get another chance some day.

  5. I’m so happy for him, he really gave it his all. 37yo and still at the top in a sport that’s merciless on the body.
    THE GOAT!!!

  6. I watched a lot of his wins

    Never seen him this emotional.

I love how much these medals mean even for the ones who have won nearly anything

  7. Incredible match. Djokovic had to have a perfect serve game to beat Alcatraz’s elite speed and skill. Novak’s serve was more on point than I had seen in a while.

  8. He’s won everything else in the sport, and has a solid argument for being the greatest athlete of all time just by being on top of the biggest individual sport in the world for the last 10+ years. But considering the stakes of playing for your country against a future GOAT contender, in what will likely be his last Olympics, and how subpar this season has gone (by his standards), this has to feel sweeter than winning a slam.

  9. That camera zoom of him on the ground crying and shaking uncontrollably after winning got me.

  10. He has done it. The madlad finally has his gold !!! What a match. Absolute thriller.

Joining Graf as the absolute GOAT of their sport (as her 1988 run is still the only golden slam done in a single year)

  11. Yeees, how glad am I for him (and also for his country)! These stories when great athletes with long and successful careers, but with one important title missing, finally complete their difficult paths to this title and win it, are the most amazing and inspiring for me.

  12. Djokovic won the first break in the game in the first tiebreak, with a shot that hit the upper part of the racket, kind of a lucky mistake. That’s how tight the game was.

But after that he was better at the tiebreaks.

  13. I loved how he celebrated , literally he waited 16 years for this ♥️ , had won everything in tennis just not a gold medal now has won it too

  14. Absolutely the best event in this olympics! Hard to describe the willpower and effort witnessed from Novak to win this gold.
Greatest athlete of all time and Serbia are lucky to have him!

  15. I was rooted for Alcaraz but Djokovic played better in both sets so he definitely deserved the gold medal.

  16. Highlight of the games so far for me, jesus christ heartpounding action for 2hr50 minutes

  17. I honestly believe Novak and Carlos are at a point in their careers where Carlos wins 9 out of 10 matches between them. A older great having a close match against a younger one but losing in the end, like Roger against Novak.

But today Novak beat the odds. Carlos was crazy clutch but Novak even more so. He and his body knew it was their last chance for gold and fought with everything. That amazing shot in the tie-break was essential.

It feels like Novak’s experience somehow made the difference in these tie-breaks.

  18. These two had the best best of 3 match I’ve ever seen last year in Cincinnati and now maybe the best best of 2 match I’ve ever watched today. Say what you want about Novak but you have to appreciate what he’s doing and against the competition he’s doing it against.

  19. Awesome. Happy for him. He seems like a great person and above all put so much in the line to hold to his convictions and principles and stood tall against all the criticism and pressure. 👏

  20. I am a huge novak fan, I have seen him playing maybe 900 matchs idk… This was one of his best match ever. I am still in absolute disbelief of what he just did

  21. As a Novak Djokovic fan this medal means more than anything. I am so so proud of him! Just overcoming adversity and defying odds at age 37. Also, it was pretty funny seeing him confused what to do on the podium haha. He hasn’t won something new in a long time so that was awesome.

His reaction after winning and celebrating with his family was priceless. This Olympic Gold medal means everything to him because he his representing Serbia 🇷🇸🫶🏻 I hope he’s the closing ceremony flag bearer for Serbia

  22. I am so touched that he expressed great happiness after the victory. He fought five olympics. Admirable. It’s a great glory for himself and his country. Congratulations to him.

  23. Are there still people who deny that he is the greatest tennis player of all time after this?

  24. This was very interesting to watch! I am so happy for him, he was very emotional about the win 😀

  25. A lot of respect for older sporters that win medals.
Getting at the top is one thing. But staying at the top for such a long time is something else.
