[OC] Favorability Ratings Of Trump, Harris, and Biden In Key Swing States

  1. I’m quite surprised with how low the “no opinion” option for Kamala is. Even though she’s been the presumptive nominee for a few weeks(and is now the official nominee), I’d still think more folks wouldn’t have an opinion just yet.

  2. Wow, pretty telling that overall every state isn’t all that happy with anyone.

Wonder when the last time was we had actual high approval ratings for candidates?

  3. It’s been explained to me many times, but I still can’t wrap my head around a state with 2 major metro areas pulling so hard towards Trump. The states that have two or more “major league sports team sized cities” are CA, TX, FL, TN, OH, NY, and PA – of which 2 are blue, 4 are red, and PA is a swing state.

The actual reason I can’t wrap my head around it is that I’ve only lived in the west where you have cities and empty BLM land, and I’ve been told the entire middle of the country is full of people outside the cities. I still don’t get why PA isn’t blue… unless exporting every energy and industry job to Mexico with NAFTA set the democrats back 40 years?

  4. If you listen closely, you can already hear the cries of another “stolen” election

  5. PA is kinda surprising. Makes a good case for Kamala to choose Shapiro as a running mate. Although a lot of the candidates are really good choices.

  6. There is no question that Harris is a way more compelling and competitive opponent for Trump than Biden was. Gives me hope as an American and kudos to Biden for making the right choice.

  7. Wow. Dead even. Everywhere.

This is going to be a slug fest. And in the end…small shift in turnout in a few counties will decide everything.

  8. Alot has changed in just a week, Kamala needed a little more time to gain traction and more notoriety

  9. What’s driving Pennsylvania to like Trump so much? Is it drill baby drill?

  10. Still mind-blowing that it could be this close, but I’m feeling much better about a chance for normalcy now that Kamala’s running. My biggest concern now is that Democrats always need a higher share of the popular vote just because of the stupid electoral college.

  11. Politics aside, the visualization could use several improvements to readability:

The “undecided” category should be placed in the middle.

A vertical line at 50% would show whether sentiment in either direction reaches a majority in each state.

  12. “No opinion” being on the right side makes it hard to compare the unfavorable %. In North Carolina it looks like the VP’s unfavorable % is higher than Trump but it’s the opposite.

  13. Probs because I always lie to the polling callers and text machines 😂 never let them know your next move

  14. I did not expect her to poll better than Biden after he dropped out. I’m pleasantly surprised

  15. If you put the grey “no opinion” in the middle, you’d be able to compare green on the left an purple on the right.  Maybe also close the spacing a little between the 3 candidate bars for comparison.
