  1. The nations are:

    * France
    * Germany
    * Spain
    * Italy
    * Portugal
    * Netherlands
    * Poland

    >Seven EU countries including France, Germany and Spain have called on Venezuela to publish the electoral rolls from last week’s presidential election after President Nicolas Maduro was declared the winner despite independent tallies showing the opposition candidate won more votes.

    >Seven [European Union](https://www.france24.com/en/tag/european-union/) countries, including [Italy](https://www.france24.com/en/tag/italy/), [France](https://www.france24.com/en/tag/france/), [Germany](https://www.france24.com/en/tag/germany/) and [Spain](https://www.france24.com/en/tag/spain/) have jointly called on the Venezuelan authorities to promptly publish the electoral rolls to ensure full transparency around last weekend’s election, the Italian prime minister’s office said on Saturday.

    >[Venezuela](https://www.france24.com/en/tag/venezuela/)’s electoral council has declared President [Nicolas Maduro](https://www.france24.com/en/tag/nicolas-maduro/), in power since 2013, the winner of the July 28 election with 51% of the vote, sparking immediate accusations of fraud by the opposition. The opposition says its own detailed tally shows opposition candidate Edmundo Gonzalez likely received 67% of the vote.

    >The joint statement by the seven EU countries added to a tide of criticism from abroad over the Venezuelan government’s handling of the election.

    >Some nations, including the [United States](https://www.france24.com/en/tag/usa/) and [Argentina](https://www.france24.com/en/tag/argentina/), have recognised Gonzalez as the election winner. Last week, [G7](https://www.france24.com/en/tag/g7/) foreign ministers expressed their solidarity with the Venezuelan people and their concern about the election results.

    >”We call on the Venezuelan authorities to immediately publish all voting registers to ensure full transparency and integrity of the electoral process,” said the statement by the seven EU nations, which also included Portugal, the Netherlands and Poland.

    >”The opposition says it has collected and published more than 80% of the electoral registers produced at each polling station. This verification is essential for the recognition of the will of the Venezuelan people”.

  2. Maduro : “I’ve won this election by a landslide !”

    Those 7 countries : “Nice claim, but where is your source ?”

    Maduro : **”My source is that I made it the fuck up !”**

  3. If we’re convinced that Maduro stole the election from people who are against him and we really don’t like that, the solution is to smuggle enough guns into Venezuela, not debate him on the matter.

  4. Why are these European countries intervening unnecessarily in a South American country again? If anything this is an imminent sign and nascent stage that another upheaval is about to occur fueled by the West. Quite ironic on how they want to uphold “principles of democracy” when the U.S. and their allies have launched coups in Africa and South America to install puppet dictators subservient to their interests (aka natural resources).

  5. Let’s say Maduro stole the election. It’s still Venezuela’s internal affairs and how to deal with that has nothing to do with other countries.
