EVERYONE WANTED TO KNOW WHAT HE WOULD DO IF HE DIDNT WIN
Jamaica had it man🤦🏿♂️
World champions of WHAT
So close. Fantastic to win gold on a pb.
But what I don’t get why at so many sports they look at tiny gains everywhere they can and Thompson is there running with that chain and daft beard.
Is it any body part that crosses or what’s the rule?
Literally leaning that won it, crazy
Crazy close. He’s a bigger favorite in the 200 where his top speed takes over.
I’m surprised so many didn’t know it’s the torso crossing that counts
Makes sense that the most competitive 100M ever was determined by .005 seconds
crazy close race. Lyles putting down the speed for the last 20m, he basically overtook the entire field after having the slowest start. Great race. Although I really do wonder why some of these guys are still wearing things like watches, earrings, chains…. like surely they cannot help lol
What a race, made me hold my breath the entire time. Oh wait it was just 10 seconds. And what a close run by all.
When the build-up is longer than the actual match. It was spectacular tho.
Lyles bout to spend the next olympics cycle working on his start. My god when he entered into his full stride, he was just faster than everyone.
That’s his only weakness and he still won 100m despite being a powerhouse at 200. He’s winning 200m definitely now
That was INSANE to watch. Wow.
That photo isn’t the one though. Doesnt show either torso crossing.
Always. Lean. In.
r/nba in shambles
Let’s get a new post of the actual finish line photo with their chests please. 🙏
This isnt the official finish foto is it?
Happy for Noah. He seems a down to Earth guy and the fact he called Americans when proclaim themselves “World Champions” in national competitions held in US soil a bunch of BS, gave me even more respect for him. That’s being humble right there.
It’s not the head crossing the line that gets the win, its the torso
I had a friend in high school who ran the 200 and dove at the finish line. He ended up with 3rd place and a broken collarbone.
I did not know until today how the clavicle came into determining who finishes first.
This goes hard
Inches I tell ya. INCHES!
It’s actually the TORSO that counts, not the head.
He won by .005
Which is beyond insane!
Respect the winning country. He won by a fraction of feet
9.79 soooo far away from 9.58….
It’s alwaysimpressive when someone on this stage still managed to blowout the competition, but there is something really beautiful about it when the bulk of the field finishes just millimeters apart.
Winning by a a hundredth of a second really validates every bit of effort put into training and.prep. Maybe going out to train on that rainy day is what made him that microsecond better than the guy who didn’t.
Seems like they should give everyone in that race a medal man that was quite a race
9.79 ? Faster than bolt in Rio and Jacob in Tokyo I guess.
“That’s not fair! You changed the outcome by measuring it!”
Let goooooooo
He hyped himself up so much before the race. My god. Genuinely do not think he would’ve won had he not done so too. Crazy.
But what was his card, though? I didn’t catch it
“by a nose” taken literally
Winner is whose head breaks the line first?
Until today, I thought it was any part of body to cross the line first. This race did answer my stupid question of why we don’t see runners doing a full dive with their arms outstretched at the end which I never had the courage to ask
What a race! I was fortunate to be there in person – so incredible
