Norway allocates $7.4 million for Ukrainian children

  1. Norway is providing financial assistance to Ukraine to support children and their families. The amount is $7.4 million.

    The Government of Norway has allocated $7.4 million for the programs of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Ukraine. This will help provide assistance to Ukrainian children and their families affected by Russia’s armed aggression.

    Norway is the fifth largest financial partner of UNICEF in responding to humanitarian challenges in Ukraine.

    “Thanks to this partnership, Ukrainian children and their families receive support in the areas of child protection, education, health, social services, water and sanitation,” the ministry said.

    # Norway’s assistance to Ukraine

    Norway is among the European countries that support Ukraine in the war with Russia. The country has provided military assistance to the Ukrainian army, including armored vehicles, ammunition, and other weapons.

    The Norwegian Prime Minister said that [Ukraine would receive six F-16 fighter ](https://newsukraine.rbc.ua/news/norway-to-send-six-f-16-fighter-jets-to-ukraine-1720614771.html)jets, with deliveries to begin in 2024.

    Norway has supported Ukraine’s steps toward the EU and NATO and supports the European Union’s sanctions against Russia.
