Beam said i’m in a bad mood today
Andrade at 4th was a surprise to me icl. I thought she’d at least get a medal!

Why did Andrade get such a low score?
sad but congrats….. such a low quality match…. 3/4 of girls fell down…
5/8 participants fell on the beam i believe 😦
Can someone explain why biles had a 0.3 penalty while others who fell didn’t?
Shocked neither Biles or Andrade made the podium.

The only competitor to do her full routine without really a wobble or a fall. Insane competition. Still shocked about Andrade score tbh.
This was like the “indie” event in gymnastics this year. A palate cleanser to the dominance by Biles and Andrade 🙂

Really sad that nothing was done about those few people in the crowd yelling during the routines. Even Simone was complaining about them after
It was a crazy day on beam. It wasn’t the three I was expecting. I understand Simone getting lower marks due to the fall etc, but wasn’t expecting Rebecca Andrade to come 4th.
That beam had banana peels on it. I also don’t know how Andrade didn’t medal since her and Alice were the only ones to not make mistakes.

D’Amato’s difficulty score was one-tenth higher than Andrade. Was she *that* much cleaner?

I don’t think anyone expected Biles and Rebeca out of the podium coming into this, but damn, Alice was really great at this. 8.566 execution was amazing in the midst of all the others making mistakes today.

Do you know what? NO one should say she won by a fluke today because although there were a lot of falls and wobbles and some crazy atmosphere going on in the room D’amato gave the routine of her LIFE and it was beautiful to watch. She should be so, so proud. It truly was well earnt.
God her reaction to winning gold nearly brought a tear to my eye.
I know that if Biles didn’t fall, she would have won the gold. But can we please take a moment to appreciate how elegant and artistic Alice was during her exercise? She was really incredible and she totally deserves the gold medal.
I’m flabbergasted. At least this unexpected gold will cushion the disappointment of our men’s volleyball shitting the bed colossally.
She’ll have to get a cheese wheel after this I’d reckon

After such a close 4th in the AA behind three gymnasts who came in already as Olympic champions and a close 5th in the uneven bars final (and I would’ve had her as 4th there too tbh) I’m so happy Alice was able to pull off not just a medal but the gold (even if I’m sad for Simone and Suni)!
And Manila! Her gymnastics is absolutely *gorgeous* and I’m so glad to see her get a medal on beam with her fellow countrywoman
Very happy that both Nemour and D’Amato got golds for apparatuses at least. I enjoyed watching their stuff during all-around and was bummed we couldn’t have a three way tie for bronze haha.
Dog, wtf was this final though? I would love a YouTube video or something from someone to explain how scoring works across difficulty, execution, penalty…
