Honestly wondered if it was even possible for ruski jets to run away from patriots. Sounds like he turned south towards Mariupol as soon as it launched and got over the water in time

I’d hate to have that guy yelling in my ear the whole time I’m trying to notch what appeared to be multiple patriot missiles. So good if that is normal russian op. Turn their stressful situation up a notch or two.
And they realy lived to tell the story!
That Patriot spiked him, and put upto three rounds after him from basically a quarter of the country away, and successfully forced the pilot off of his combat mission. They are struggling this hard against LRAD, no wonder they are getting dog fucked by SRAD, they probably only have MOMENTS to deal with incoming stingers and starstreaks.
The F16s Ukraine got came with those fancy targeting helmets, and their list of available munitions will be LONG once the stock pile coming from the Netherlands makes landfall. Soon if Russian jets make it through to intercept range, they are going to have to contend with jets that don’t need to nose onto them to lock and fire, hell, depending on the munition, a pilot could hypothetically lock onto a Russian jet while defending, and put a missile in the air that will self correct and track the jet after being fired in a completely different direction, or the second a Ukranian pilot can force an overshoot, just IMEDIATELY let one off the rack and save the cannon rounds.
It is a GRIM time to be a Russian combat aviator. Wonder if any Ruskie helicopters will get smoked with HARMS lol

What people don’t realise immediately is that the reason the Russian pilot survived is because he (and the AWACS/ground controller) knew exactly when to defend against the Patriot.
Long range missiles (whether AA or SA) have a specific “goldilocks zone” where you must defend. Too early or too late and you’re dead. This essentially gives away into the public sphere the goldilocks zone of a Patriot

The SU-34 has to be lucky every time it meets the Patriot. The Patriot only has to get lucky once.
