  1. Who could’ve known that letting the most divorced man on earth have full control over a popular social media platform could be bad

  2. >Britain’s government has social platforms in its sights

    Well. Take the shot already.

  3. Twitter is a cesspool for racists, crazies and bots from shit hole states looking to cause discontent.

It’s time to ban X and any other platform which allows this to thrive.

  4. Last time Musk “squared up for a fight” he got a doctor’s note to get him out of fighting Zuckerberg. I think the UK will be fine

  5. We’d all be better off without that cesspool of a platform. It contains more Russian and Chinese propaganda than anything useful

  6. “Twat stirs shit online about handful of twats stirred up further by the media, meanwhile tens of millions of people in the U.K. couldn’t give a shit”

  7. Just ban twitter in Europe and get it over with. Migrate to Mastodon or let an EU version replace it.

Stop giving this self absorbed moron any attention

  8. Shut down that hate drilling circle jerk of GB news and that’s half the job done already

  9. declare Elon an enemy of the state, and take appropriate actions to said enemy of the state

  10. Musk blocked posts on X in Turkey during their Presidential elections, so this clearly isn’t about free speech to him.

Troll farms continue to operate unabated on the platform.

X/Twitter is a plate of dogshit and needs to die.

  11. Seriously though, what are they going to do?

Ban twitter and have a European alternative created that few people will use?

  12. Yeah sure, blame Musk. He’s at fault. Not the UK policies that lead to this.

  13. Yesterday, we had this post on r/europe (https://www.reddit.com/r/europe/comments/1ekwxax/how_far_right_riots_in_the_uk_were_likely_fueled/) which states that Russia is responsible for fueling the riots in the UK (the majority didn’t agree on blaming the russians for it like anything else which works bad in the EU). Now we have this post where an american social media platform and his owner is to blame for riots and the far right. When will we have an approved post on r/europe blaming EU’s politics and own politicians for the problems EU has?

  14. I was not expecting to see the day when reddit would support shutting down social media by government.

The very same activity performed in other parts of the world (Pakistan, Iran or Syria) would be seen as a dictatorship cracking down of protesters fighting for their rights.

I think it is a hypocrisy to support X’s/FB’s/ect. shutdown in UK.

  15. Good luck to the government but this is a fight they won’t win. Musk will have Twitter removed from the UK market, either by his own hand or banned by the government because frankly the UK is too small. If it was an EU wide banning then it would be different but on its own Musk will take the fight to the UK.

Side note but if the UK bans Twitter then it finds itself in the company of China, Russia, Iran, North Korea.

  16. Muskrat stripped any viable public application for Twitter the second he got his filthy hands on it
