What do you think of Deco?

  1. I think he’s a degenerate moron who’s trying to fill his and his buddies’ pockets

  2. Waiting for this window to end and see what incomings and Outgoing he managed to

  3. Foolish quite frankly. Bought Roque for no other reason than Madrid buying Endrick and now spending €62m on an injury-prone 26-year-old midfielder in a position that’s not needed.

  4. Can someone summarize what Deco has accomplished over the past year since becoming a sporting director? Are there any major accomplishments?

  5. There so much the man can do on a club that’s been on the decline financially for a few years now.

  6. It’s hard to know where to place the blame. And Deco deserves plenty. But it’s definitely a board issue also. They drag their feet closing the Nike and Libero deals which should have been the focus long ago before they start chasing expensive transfers. Now, once again, they’re late doing the book balancing job and couldn’t make confirmed offers to their desired signings. I believe Nico Williams is a Barça player IF they had guaranteed him registration earlier in the window. What’s Nico supposed to do?? Deco had him on the cusp, but the board botched the timeline on getting back to the 1/1 ratio. And now players and agents further lose trust in the prospect of coming to our club. IT’S SO DAMN FRUSTRATING. Politicians instead of proper business people run our board and operate the club. Alemany was an exception and we desperately need him or someone like him back.

  7. Replacing Alameny with him was the biggest mistake Laporta has made.
The signing of Roque would alone be reason to fire him.

  8. He should be fired after transferwindow:

    1) 8 departures (€ 6m cancelo – loan and starting xi player, Felix – loan, fringe player, romeu – simple loan, guiu – 6m paid release clause, Roberto and Alonso end of contract, dest – released from contract)

    2) 0 new players after arguably terrible season (pau Victor between A and B team is also not registered yet)

    3) Xavi resigned, club accepted – proceed to persuade him for 5 months for him to stay which worked only to be fired by Laporta 2 weeks later and all of his staff is being paid until 30.6.2025

    4) iñigo Martinez and Vitor Roque are not yet registered for upcoming season

    5) lenglet is still in the team and collects € 12m annually

    6) still no official comunicado about new Nike contract (€ 100m a year with €120m signing bonus)

    7) failed (and arguably useless) transfer of vitor roque for € 30+35 m when club relies only on old (and on his last legs)Lewandowski while we were (and still are) missing DM and left wing

    8) incoming (arguably useless) transfer of Olmo which will be after gündogan, torre, pedri, de Jong, gavi, bernal and casado all whom Flick counts on -9th midfielder in the team and we still lack pivot / dm.

    9) if reports are anything to go by, Olmo will play as left winger. Attacking midfielder playing on the left? We all know how it went with coutinho.

    10) failed and frankly embarassing saga of Nico Williams whom we couldnt persuade to join us or we couldnt offer guarantees to him so we could register him (or both).

    11) frenkie de jong collects € 37 m, Lewandowski collects € 33m and Gündogan collects € 20m.

    12) there is genuine fear in the club that araujo, de Jong wont renew their contracts that end both in 2026 and they want to leave for free

    13) 24 days until transfer window ends, 10 days until la liga starts

And we yet have to sing anyone that improves us or to sell dead weight…

Im aware that not all of mentioned above is Deco fault but most of it is. He is hugely incompetent (worse than Abidal) and he only bright one player – Raphinha whom he represe teď before. Also deco was rejected by many players including young and exciting prospects like güler, bergvall and others

  9. I think that the club’s obsession with hiring former players can sometimes do far more harm than good. Deco was a great player for us, but it doesn’t seem like he has the knowledge or experience to excel as a sporting director at this level. His decision making seems to be mostly reactive and financially wasteful. Olmo and Roque are good examples of poor decision making, especially when you consider our financial situation. It is looking like he will fail to sign Nico and will now pivot to Olmo. We have ample coverage at his best position (CAM) and he isn’t the winger profile that Flick wants. His signing will also hurt the development of youngsters like Fermin. At the end of the day, Olmo is simply too old and too expensive for what he brings to the table. On top of that, it looks like we might be selling Roque for a loss only 6 months after signing him. A player that, in my opinion, was only signed bc Enderick went to Madrid. If we do lose out on Nico, we should look to sign a pivot and right back, cut our losses with Deco, and leave LW for January.

  10. They sold him as a player for a reason. Should have never brought that type of person back for any role, especially Sporting Director

  11. club legend as a player but he seems to have very little idea what he’s doing

  12. didn’t like it as a player, certainly don’t like him as a manager… he seems like a person who makes everything harder for everybody

  13. His business activities are limited to having a good relationship with the (often wrongfully) targeted player or his agent. I think we’ve made particularly bad business decisions since he’s been in that role.

  14. Forced hate. This wasn’t popular until Reddit and twitter fans started this agenda.

Olmo doesn’t look like a Deco decision. we all wanted Roque so don’t act like it’s Deco’s fault now that he sucks.

How many “bad” signings have Deco made? People hear a rumour, run with it and create conclusions. Now he’s blamed for Nico not coming here. Nico decision was gonna be made regardless.

  15. 62 million on olmo instead of nico. Not offense to olmo i want him at barca but he is a luxury signing we need a lw. Sometimes i wish perez was our president

  16. İ personally am not fond of him.

But i will stfu until deadline day because for some reason we just come alive that time

  17. I think the only thing is his fault is the signing of Roque and olmo (if olmo doesn’t perform).
Everything else is not up to him, starting g with the nike deal and barca Studios.
The loans and the people that have left are not worth staying.
Frenkie, lewa, and lenglet are absolutely not his fault.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t agree with olmo signing, but we’ll see what happens.
Also, if nico didn’t want to be at barca this season, it is not his fault. He tried, but what else can he do.
Or if nico didn’t want to come because he wasn’t confident that he’ll be registered, then it’s not decos fault because the nike deal is on laporta and barca studios.
