The Russian MoD and several Russian telegram channels say that Ukraine has conducted an advance into Kursk oblast today, including with elements from Ukraine’s 22nd Mechanized Brigade and possibly Strykers from the 82nd Air Assault Brigade.

4. What’s the bet Ukraine has been monitoring this area for a while and mapping out possible minefields. Goes to explain how far and quickly they’ve advanced so far.

   Supposedly Kadyrovites were stationed at the border too so this might also explain why Ukraine had an easy time.🤷‍♂️

7. You need to collect some trophies first in order to have a better position for forthcoming negotiations maybe ?

8. Russia has a lot of its reserves in this area so no meaningful hope of a breakthrough. Maybe they want Russia to replace its conscripts on the border with contraktniki drawn from other areas. Clueless conscripts would also be useful targets for combined arms exercise.
