Just under 4 years to go and Royal Avenue’s JJB Sports will have sat closed for 20 years

Was it JJB or lifestyle sports used to have a lil area where you could test the putters nd generally fuck about cause your Ma was in other shops?
The rent along units on Royal Avenue must be lethal as apart from CastleCourt and a few shops here and there it’s dead and to think this use to be one of the busiest streets in the entire city.
Does anyone know when the decline on Royal Ave started?
I miss JJB. Like a better cleaner sports direct with more actual sports stuff instead of “fashion”
There is an empty JJB in Coleraine too.
There are about 3 empty units in Derry on the Crescent link retail park. One was Maplin, one NEXT home and the other an Argos.
Other units which used to have ToysRus, Mothercare and babysRus are now a big B&M bargain store.
