  1. Is this old though? They already took down a helicopter with a drone a few weeks ago. Or is that the same?

  2. They’ve been teasing this for weeks now and here it is. This truly is The First Drone War.

  3. Mi-28 top speed is only 186 mph. Any turbine powered drone should easy be able to catch them.

Even nitro engine drones probably could reach 350-450 mph.

  4. Well the tail rotor was hit.

Even if the drone didn´t detonate it certainly did some damage to the tail rotor.

If it´s even taken out the MI28 needs to perform an emergency landing.

  5. I was like why does this look familiar then it rang a bell. Remember when you used the predator missile to take down a aircraft on COD 😅😅

  6. Saw an Indian chopper get taken out by a tarp. Helicopters work really well until suddenly they don’t.

  7. As the attack vector is different from the flight path, the UAV must’ve been travelling faster than the target helicopter (*max. speed of most* [Mil Mi-28](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mil_Mi-28) variants *is ~320 km/h, travel speed in uncontested sectors would be ~180 km/h for best fuel efficiency*).

Unless the helicopter was attacked during take-off or hovering (*the footage doesn’t support this*), AFU has likely employed an fixed-wing UAV to match the speed of the helicopter.
