The British countryside. This is actually a road and it was like this for about a mile. Does anyone have any spare T-Cut?

  1. The rain causes the bushes and trees to “sag” and they do this, it’s probably a better drive in the dry.

  2. I’m in the south west… looks like the way to thornford to me. And yes it’s a B road

  3. I went to Alton towers last week, coming from the south, once I entered staffordshire I was pleasantly surprised by how well kept verges and hedgerows were. My sat nav sent me down a similar road, a bit bumpy but the hedgerows were perfectly trimmed.

  4. There was a lane like that past a house I lived in in very rural Somerset back in the 60’s. Went back to see it recently and the lane has completely vanished, not even on maps any more.

  5. Wash it asap before all the bugs get in and start colonising every crevice.

  6. I think I went down that road a few weeks ago, now have some lovely streaks across side of car. It was the signposted route, the google maps favoured route so I did it in place of my normal route which is also one lane. This one looked like that with pot holes the size of a hippo and is something happened to me on the route not one would find me for months I think. Never again.

  7. Few like this round me. Pretty standard after a load of rain. The only thing that keeps the green back is the tractors and occasional cars that drive through. Hell most the roads like this have a massive green centre as well where the grass has grown

  8. Reminds of my hike the other week, the trail was so overgrown, it even had recent reviews but I don’t think anyone actually bothered going all the way

  9. Wild, literally. I venture the roads of Gwynedd from time to time – as narrow as they can be, the roads always visible at least haha

  10. People complain but I love how green it is in the UK. Hawaii of the north 🌿

  12. This can often happen in rural places if you follow a sat nav rather than looking for road signs. Google maps and many sat navs can’t seem to differentiate between a main road and an indentation in the grass made by a squirrel. It will think this is the slightly quicker route and send you down it rather than the A road also going to the same destination. I’ve learned this the hard over way a few times and will now use the road signs as well as it will take the more sensible route. The plus side is I’ve gotten to drive down some nice backroads and see little places I wouldn’t have otherwise.

It would be good if with the use of traffic data they are able to build up a picture of what roads are mostly used.

  13. This is the kinda road Waze would send you down to “save” 20 seconds of your journey

  14. I’d half expect an elephant to barge out of that undegrowth… Or overgrowth. Whatever it is, there’s a lot of growth.

  15. My Satnav on holiday in the depths of Wales when it detects a route that is 30 seconds quicker than the main A road.

  16. If you live in rural UK do not buy a shiny car.

At least, do not buy a shiny car expecting it to stay shiny!
