"The allegations include demanding sexual favours for professional assistance in at least two cases, at least 15 incidents of sexual harassment which include groping, inappropriate touching by running hands over breasts, navel, buttock and several instances of intimidation including stalking. The complainant wrestlers state that the acts by Bhushan have traumatized them. The FIRs mention that the women wrestlers went out only in groups to have food to avoid meeting Bhushan alone. One of the complainants stated that Bhushan threatened her with repercussions in the upcoming tournament trials as she resisted his attempts to make physical contact with her. She further stated she was hugely discriminated during the mentioned trials."

"Vinesh Phogat, who has won multiple medals at the World Wrestling Championships, claimed she was "mentally harassed, tortured and threatened to be killed" by Bhushan for complaining against him to Prime Minister Modi and sports minister Anurag Thakur. She was made to face widespread media scrutiny for the same under the guise of missing out on a medal at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021."

  1. The same people who were silent when all this was happening are today trying to jump onto the bandwagon and praise her for everything so far. Vinesh has fought the entirety patriarchy, government, system to be where she is and as heartbreaking it is as an Indian to see her disqualified and stripped.of a medal chance, she’s still a heroine in my eyes. I hope western and intl media outlets make her story heard.

  2. Do you know why news sources are writing her name as “Vinesh Phogat” but the IOC statement calls her “Vinesh Vinesh”?

  3. The world has united behind her, and she deserves it. My heart breaks for her, and she will find more triumphs soon.

  4. The world’s largest democracy with the world’s largest corrupt system.

Modi, along with Western media, successfully suppressed this story considering it has so many of these types of situations that aren’t being acknowledged outside of India. Sad.

  5. Do you think these goras care about it?? or BJP/ Congress. They will only generalize whole country for it, don’t post them here

  6. She’s gone through a lot and has struggled for positive change, and she deserved a shot at the Olympics. But she also deserved to be disqualified. She tried to squeeze into a lower weight class than she really should be in and failed to maintain the weight to slip into that class. She should be disqualified.

  7. “bUT thE RuLeS arE tHe RulEs!”

seriously the amount of completely soulless autistic losers whose *only* reaction to the disqualification is to state the fucking obvious that “rUleS arE thERe fOr a REasoN” is creepy. this lady’s had to go through shit no human being should and just lost out to her likely last & best chance to Olympic Gold, i think she’s earned at least a little sympathy. for fucks sake.

  8. Phogat had led a mass protest against prime minister Narendra Modi as he appointed a rapist as the head of India’s wrestling federation, who had targeted female wrestlers.

This is sabotage by Modi, who must have instructed her dieticians to not provide accurate information to her.
