  1. Chocolate gateau toastie. Barry Lewis did a video on the Youtube and it turned out alright, tasted like brownies.

  2. The Brit is a very special type of human, one which I have not yet been able to comprehend. Why tf would anyone want to eat a toast made in a microwave ?

  3. You would probably prefer those bag things that you can put a sandwich in and put the bag in the toaster.

  4. I’ve got one of those! The golden rule is butter the _outside_ of the bread, then it makes lovely crispy toasties.

  5. To all those hating on the ‘microwave’ aspect or pointing out that it would be ‘soggy’ have evidently never used one of these. It’s incredible, toasties are extremely crispy (more so than I’ve ever managed with a pan) and you can use it for more than that – I’ve done burgers and sausages in it before with no issues, just adjust the cooking time accordingly, same with making a toastie with the filling being from frozen if I was short on time.

  6. Spray the surfaces with vegetable oil and/or butter the bread on the outside before cooking.

Sun-dried tomatoes, mozzarella, and a couple basil leaves is great. Or pizza.

I buy medium sized eggs and drop one into each well with a little grated cheese then put a slice of bread on top. 3 minutes and turn the bead out upside down and you have a perfect fried egg on toast.

  7. It’s getting a lot of hate but it’s a solid thing to have in the cupboard. I’ve got the V1 of this and it’s so much more convenient than pans/toastie maker/George Foreman. I guess people don’t realise it has metal plates on the inside so you don’t end up with a horrible soggy mess.

  8. A lot of these comments not understanding that it has metal plates, so it does actually “toast” the bread like a toastie maker should. So it’s crispy, not soggy.
