Mondo is from Louisianna and lasted 1 year in NCAA before going pro. Sha'Carri also dropped out after breaking the NCAA 100m record her freshman year.

  1. I’m always torn supporting and/or celebrating athletes who made the mistake of going to LSU.

  2. I love the name “Sha’Carri”. Does anyone know the origin or the story behind the name? I searched a few search engines but couldn’t find anything.

  3. Wait why are these huge champions not in an ivy league?? Are olympic golds not enough? At least NYU?

  4. AWW they were so young lol

(ik they still are though but it feels different seeing them at a time when they were younger than me)

  5. Dam imagine dropping out and not winning 1st place. That why the girl that one 100m finished her degree thrn went pro

I understand this in the context of NBA, NFL, NHL where NCAA athletes drop out and go pro…….but that’s circumstantial in that entering the draft, going pro, delivers much more lucrative contracts that extend over a relatively long/decent period of time such that the athletes are set up for life.

I had no idea the same sort of route existed for athletics, for athletes in events like Pole Vaulting? Like when you go pro in athletics you don’t represent a team in an organization, is it only then for your country in World and Olympic competitions?

Do they make enough money doing that?
