Ordinary Americans don't care about any royalty
In real life and reality, most normal healthy sound-minded critically thinking people have very low tolerance, patience or compassion for blatant abusers, bullies, liars and GRIFTERS in their lives and homes. These two grifters have nothing of any true value or worth to contribute to any society or all of humanity and they make a mockery out of people's true tragedies, pain, sickness, achievements, successes and abilities with their mimicry and copycatting and that is just repulsive character and conduct worthy of rejection and dismissal. All IMO.

Americans also don't like Harry (and the wife) because they lie constantly, they care about no one but themselves, they grift off the American military, they pose as experts and preach about things they know nothing about, they complain about bullying and claim to be victims when it is they who are the bullies. Regarding Harry only, Americans don't like that he has openly criticized American foreign policy, has called free speech for Americans "bonkers" and is actively working to censor Americans online that do not report favorably on him and/or his wife even though what's been reported is true; Harry & Meghan call that misinformation and insist, in many cases successfully, that negative reporting on them be removed while they lie constantly about their family members.
