He’s bound to get a medal of some color with that performance
India had a massive hype for Neeraj Chopra. But feels impossible to beat after this massive throw of 92.97m.
It was like effortless. His body just stopped after the throw.
That was amazing 😍
He deserved it so very much. What makes it even more remarkable is that he achieved this record while working multiple jobs to support his family and dealing with poverty. He practiced in public parks with a makeshift wooden javelin he crafted himself, despite being mocked by others. He had no standard javelin to practice with, no sponsors, no government support, and no proper coaches. The first real javelin he acquired was thanks to fellow villagers pooling their money to support him. Yet, despite throwing two monster 90m+ throws, he remained incredibly humble—a true champion in every sense.
That’s olympic record! Did anyone see the throw speed and angle for this?
IN FUCKIN SANE MAN IM SOO HAPPY FOR HIM😭
I usually never like us losing to Pakistan, but will make an exception for this guy.
After Tokyo Olympics, in which he competed in the finals, they showed that he did his weight training with rusted weights.
He always comes across as humble guy. He always wishes for Neeraj to succeed.
So yeah, I still hate losing to Pakistan, but well done Nadeem. Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy.
Nadeem performed very well. Congratulations Pakistan.
2 medals for the Asian countries.
He had a *night*. His last throw, after he’d already won gold, was 91.79. He beat everyone else *twice*. (Silver was 89.45.) And his third best throw, 88.72, was better than the bronze! Just incredible to watch.
And also, the competition as a whole was great. People finished 6th/7th whose throws would have been medal competitors in other years.
Credit where credit’s due! He broke the Olympic record not once but twice & thoroughly deserved the gold.
Neeraj will also return as nothing short of a legend for winning consecutive medals is no joke (gold+silver)
It was wonderful & odd ( in a fun way ) to watch the ind-pak rivalry in something different than cricket. There were 5 crore ppl watching the event live at 1 a.m here in india!
Olympic record, personal best and gold. Hats off!
Anyone got a link to see it?
Wow! He did it, got the gold!
Wow
Given the infrastructure in Pakistan and how little people care for sport that isn’t cricket, this is an amazing achievement.
First gold medal in track and field for Pakistan.
Is that Carlos Alcaraz’s dad?
What a monster throw! And make that double. Insane performance ⭐️
Imagine no proper training facility or equipment for training and having to depend on donations from surrounding villages and families to get to the Olympics. Amazing story. Congrats to Nadeem.
He has Kevin McHale arms. Geez. That must help!
Take a bow 🏆
This is our first gold 🥇 in 40 years! First ever in Athletics.
We the common Pakistanis are going absolutely insane. This is an unreal moment for all of Pakistan!
92.97 is insane. No one is close to him
Absolute monster of a throw. Would’ve taken something really special to top it.
Congratulations to both Arshad Nadeem 🇵🇰 and Neeraj Chopra 🇮🇳
This was so so good to watch!
As sson as I sat that ‘Arnie 1980’s flat top’ I knew he meant business!
This felt like some personal win so freaking happy for my man. Up and beyond
Javelin is all about technique over speed. His was flawless.
Really showed the importance of technique in the throw. His ability to generate arm speed and his timing had to be perfection for it to launch like that.
It was a great competition, won by a greater throw.
